Recruitment is a process of finding suitable employees and
motivating them to apply for jobs in the organization. Selection can be defined
as the process by which the organization chooses from among the applicants. As
a result of rapidly changing business environment, organizations have to
respond as soon as possible to the requirements for people. Because of that, it
is very important to have conclusive recruitment process and a policy in place,
which can be implemented effectively to get the best fits for the vacant
positions. Rejecting the right candidate or selecting the wrong candidate could
turn out be costly mistakes for the organization. (Karthi
et al, 2015)
Amstrong (2009) stated that recruitment is the process of
finding and engaging the people to the organization needs and Selection is that
part of the recruitment process concerned with deciding which applicants should
be appointed to job.

Job evaluation and analysis is very important to identify the individual
aspects of each job and calculate the relative worth of them .
Identification of responsibilities, knowledge, experience, abilities,
required skills and potential human resource pool within the organization and
outside the organization is the part of successful recruitment process. It is
very important to Assessment of qualification profiles according to the job
descriptions. McQuerrey (2018) stated that, when organizations want to
hire the employees, they expect the people who bring the greatest skill sets to
the organization.
Internal
recruitment
It is a process
of an identification the right in house talented person to fill an open
position, which has both pros and cons. internal hiring encourages the
development of specialized knowledge and skills because workers anticipate long
careers with the firm. But internal hiring restricts the size of the applicant
pool.
External recruitment
External
Recruitment is a process of hiring employees from the outside. It can also
reduce the potential for in-fighting. External recruitment also has advantages.
It brings fresh ideas to an organization.
Gusdorf (2008) argued that there is no best or specific
method to recruiting people to an organization. Most organizations use various
kind of methods, depending on the nature of the job to be filled, the time
needed to properly fill the position and the size of their recruiting budget.
